My wife and I nervously made the decision of circumcision on our then 6 week old. We'd been on the fence for many reasons, then petrified we'd waited too long once we decided to go through with it.

We contacted Rabbi Yossi, per our midwife's recommendation. He was pleasant, patient and kind. This would be his demeanor throughout our experience.

Our visit was scheduled for the day after our initial consultation, for which he traveled to us. He passed over our threshold after touching over our mezuzah and a discussion over our background and decision ensued, which I appreciated, as this only added to our comfort.

The process was fast, complete with an explanation of the history of circumcision. Our son cried his eyes out, as did I, while my wife held him in place and watched the procedure.

Rabbi bottle fed him straight away, at which time, he calmed. Crying then picked up again for the rest of the day during nappy changes, but as quickly as it came, it went. No more crying by the evening nappy change and the site wasn't a bloody mess as I've seen on my friends babies from hospital circumcisions. Healing was swift and perfect, as the care instructions given were very clear and simple.

It was also a breath of fresh air to have been able to bury our son's foreskin in our own ceremony, as opposed to having it dashed away like trash.

As nervous first time mums, we had a plethora of concerns and questions, which Rabbi made himself available for at close to any hour, as promised.

We're happy with the outcome and that all went smoothly.
